How Roost collections work
A collection is a trip theme the Roost team picked by hand. It is not an algorithm's output, and it is not space a property can buy. The team decides where each theme should take you, then ties that card to one real destination — beachfront villas go to Pran Buri, romantic escapes to Hua Hin, family trips to Phuket, and workation to Chiang Mai.
But what sits behind a card is not a frozen list of properties. Every card opens Roost search, which runs a live search against booking providers the moment you tap it. So what you get is whatever has a real price that day, not a list someone typed last month and never came back to update. The upside is that it cannot go stale. The trade-off is that the team does not guarantee any particular property will be in the results — and we would rather say so here than let you assume otherwise.
One more distinction worth making plainly: these collections lead to metasearch results, which are a different thing from the Roost Home properties we manage ourselves. Our own portfolio is small and every property passes our four-tier verification. Metasearch results are far wider because they are pulled from outside booking providers. Which month suits which theme — from 10 years of records
The question that follows immediately after picking a theme is “so when should I go?” The numbers below come from the ERA5 climate dataset, 10 years of records (2016–2025), the same dataset every Roost destination page uses — not estimates we wrote ourselves. Hua Hin and Pran Buri are both in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, so they share one provincial average. We say that here rather than presenting it as a figure for a specific stretch of coast, which we do not have.

A long-term average is not a forecast. It can tell you which months tend to be drier than others over the long run; it cannot tell you it will not rain on your dates. These are grid-cell averages for the area, not readings from one particular beachfront.

›Is a collection a list of properties the team picked?
No. The team picks only the theme and its destination. The properties you see come from a live search run at the moment you tap through, so they are properties with a real price that day rather than a frozen list. Results change daily with what booking providers return, and they are ranked by Roost Score v2 like any other search.
›Can a property pay to be in a collection?
No. Collections are not ad space. The team picks themes people actually ask for; positions are not sold. And because what sits behind each card is a live search ranked by Roost Score v2, there is no fixed slot to buy in the first place.
›Are the properties in a collection Roost Home properties?
No. Collections lead to metasearch results, which draw their prices from outside booking providers. Roost Home properties are the ones we manage and host ourselves — a small portfolio, each passing four tiers of verification. The two are clearly separate. This page sits under Roost Home only because the same team curates the themes.
›Where do the driest-month figures come from?
From the ERA5 climate dataset published by the Copernicus Climate Change Service, computed as monthly averages over 10 years (2016–2025). It is the same dataset used on every Roost destination page. These are long-term averages, not a forecast for your travel dates, and they describe a grid cell over the area rather than one specific beach.
